Seeking to Know God
We seek to understand our lives through His Word, not define the Word by our lives.
An Online Bible Study
There is no word that can prevail with Him like His own...May our prayers, then, spring out of our Scriptural studies"
Charles Spurgeon
Scriptural study is vital to our prayer life. Bible study for the purpose of more knowledge may never profit a soul; however, the profit of Bible study for the purpose of knowing the Author of Scripture may never be calculable. Bible study accompanied with meditation (prayer) upon God's Word will do much to increase our relationship with Him. Prayer, as Charles Spurgeon taught, should "spring out of our Scriptural studies." After all, why would we speak to God without thought as to what God has first spoken? Why would we speak to God without preparing for our conversation with the Creator of the Universe? Would we risk praying "my will be done" by not first knowing and understanding what God has revealed of His will through His Word? Can there be a better way to pray, especially at times we simply don't know what to pray, than to pray the words of His Word? Follow along with the men and women of God and pray with them...
I rise before dawn and cry out for help; I put my hope in Your word. I am awake through each watch of the night to meditate on Your promise. In keeping with Your faithful love, hear my voice. psalm 119:147-149.
